Rocky Grove
Vol. Fire Dept. has a long standing record for its Fire
Prevention program. Our program covers grades 1st
through 6th with STOP, DROP and ROLL. Plus the program
covers the difference between good and bad fires. 1st
grade tours of our Station 1 and a program for the High
School's Safety Patrol. |

On October
7th, 2007 the Povertyneck Hillbillies were in the City of Franklin for a
concert at Applefest 2007. Due to a power
supply problem, Rocky Grove Volunteer Fire Department was contacted to
bring down Rescue 2120 to supply the
concerts power with our 40 kilowatt PTO driven generator. Pictures were
taken following the concert. |

WORKING STRUCTURE FIRE GOSS GAS |
|
Working
structure fire at Goss Gas on Rt 8 in Village of Reno on
June 24, 2002. Goss Gas is a propane storage and
distribution facility. Heavy fire in warehouse at rear
of structure. Village of Reno was evacuate due to 2
large storage tanks approx. 200 yards from rear of
structure. Mutual aid received from all county
departments as well 4 surrounding counties due to lack
of water supply. |

Structure
fire at member's house in 2003. Fire started by animal
knocking over candle in bedroom on 2nd floor. |

WORKING STRUCTURE FIRE ON ROCKY GROVE AVE. |

Working
structure fire on Rocky Grove Ave. Woman trapped on
second floor of structure at time of dispatch. Was
rescued by work crew in area and ladder from rear of
structure. Rocky Grove VFD was assisted at the scene by
Reno VFD, Oakland VFD and City of Franklin. |

MVA on
Keely Road at 07:21 on Sept. 13, 2007. Sunlight impeded
drivers sight and caused rear end collision with
Concrete Mixer. 2 injuries in car, one patient flown in
Stat 6. Rocky Grove VFD assisted by Sugarcreek Boro
Police, Pennsylvania State Police, Community Ambulance
Service, Cooperstown VFD and Stat Medivac 6. |

VEHICLE MVA WITH ENTRAPMENT |

Two vehicle MVA on
Rt 417 on Feb. 26, 2008. Vehicle loses control and cross
centerline on icy roads. Heavy entrapment in driver's
compartment of Chevy Blazer. Removed roof and roller
dash for access to driver's legs. Rocky Grove VFD
assisted by Sugarcreek Boro Police, Community Ambulance
Service, Penndot and Lowry's Auto Wrecking. |

TWO
VEHICLE MVA WITH ENTRAPMENT |
|
Two vehicle MVA on
Rt 8 in Reno on June 9, 2008. One person ejected from
White SUV and Moderate entrapment in driver's
compartment of Black SUV. Mutual Aid for Heavy Rescue
provided by Rocky Grove VFD. Reno VFD was also assisted by Sugarcreek Boro Police,
State Police, Oil City Police, Community Ambulance
Service, Stat Medivac 6, Stat Medivac 7, Stat Medivac 8,
Cornplanter VFD, Penndot and Lowry's Auto Wrecking. |
